Personality:
The first thing you'll know about Kiryu Sento is that he's a genius — mostly because it is the first thing he will tell you.

There are times where he looks like he’s in his own world, easily attracted to intellectual pursuits or fascinating mysteries. He approaches such things with childlike excitement, fixated on such interests until he is completely satisfied with it or someone pulls him away from such topics. And sometimes it is necessary to distract him away from such things, as he wouldn’t even notice his surroundings — or worse, alternative solutions — when a topic has fully gripped him. It’s the nature of a genius, you see, to puzzle over a challenge until an answer has been found, and he will find an answer.

Being a genius is one of the things that is truly his, after all: something nobody else taught him, something that became his bedrock when he knew nothing else about himself.

Sento’s specialty and interests lies upon the sciences, which is why he has an immense respect to the field. This also leads to his strong opinions about the subject: for Sento, science is necessary for mankind’s future. Because of this he is capable of viewing some atrocities in a clinical manner, even understanding what inhumane experiments can contribute from a scientific standpoint. After all, it is not science itself that is wrong, but those who would use it for destruction. If science is used the right way, it can bring joy to people.

But it is true that such scientific ideals are not always flawless. After all, even he has used science to hurt so many in the past. Back when he was someone who utilized science without a heart, he didn’t care who he harmed or how many lives were sacrificed for his goals. As long as humanity could evolve and survive, he was willing to sell his soul to the devil. And even now, when he could no longer risk innocent lives one could see glimpses of it: in times of distress, Sento tends to shut down his emotions so he could focus on the task at hand. He can be cold when necessary, even when he hates it. Because no matter how much he wants nobody to die in a war, it is inevitable that there are always costs to pay.

But what can he do, now that his science has too much heart and a conscience? What can he do, when the guilt of his past weighs him down even today?

If sacrifices must be made, then let him be the sacrifice. Such is Sento’s selflessness — he cares a lot about others, and helping them makes him happy. That’s the kind of person he wants to become. One can say that his heroism is for himself as well, as much as it is for others. His strong sense of justice and duty means that he would never desire anybody to get hurt in his stead. As a result, he has the tendency to walk alone: to try and shoulder the burden on his own rather than risk hurting others just because they would want to help. Alas, this ability to sacrifice things (himself) for the greater good is not a strength, but a flaw — sometimes the burden is too much for him to bear anyway. Sometimes trying to do things on his own leads to disastrous effects.

It’s a good thing that his friends would never let him deal things on his own.

Because no matter how false Sento’s existence may seem to be, all of his qualities — his kindness, his compassion, his love — they are all genuine acts coming from the bottom of his heart. And to those whose hearts have been touched by his heroism are inspired in turn: they would not let Sento go astray or suffer on his own. After all, Sento’s ideals are the same ideals they have been fighting for in the end: love and peace.

It might sound so idealistic, and as a man of logic Sento knows that above anybody else. An unscientific, sentimental phrase, but it is a dream worth fighting for. Sento might be a genius, but he is also a superhero: and science has always existed to bring forth happiness to others.

Kiryu Sento started out with nothing: an empty shell, with no place to belong to. Someone created to be used as a chess piece or a weapon, molded for a specific purpose. And yet he would take those qualities and make them his own: he would make those real. The love he had received from others has turned him real. And that is who he is: a narcissistic, egoistic, righteous superhero.

Abilities:
Thanks to constant fighting and exposure to Nebula Gas, Sento possesses a high Hazard Level of 7, something thought to be impossible by humans. While this has no benefit of its own, it is due to this Hazard Level that he can transform as Build and use all related devices to his universe’s Rider System.

While it isn't his specialty he does possess fighting skills, especially when it comes to shot boxing. He's skilled enough to judo throw anybody charging at him through sheer reflex. While he has no formal training in any martial art, he knows his way around a battlefield and has the cunning to match himself up with better trained opponents.

Outside of this Sento has no real superhuman abilities. His true power comes from his genius-level intellect, especially on scientific fields such as physics, chemistry, advanced mathematics and engineering. With this he is capable of inventing the weapons and forms he uses as a Kamen Rider.
